Taraji Penda Henson is an American singer and actress that was born in Washington D.C. on September 11th, 1970. Taraji began her university education by enrolling in North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University but later transferred to Howard University. In order to finance her education at Howard, Taraji was employed in two jobs as a student. She graduated from Howard with a degree in Theater Arts, in addition, she also won the Triple Threat Award. Among her best known roles are Yvette in “Baby Boy” and Queeni in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, a role which (saw) her nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009.
