Since her childhood, she worked as a model before finding a job as a dancer or vocalist in a choir before she was 15 years old. In 1940, she presented her first play on Broadway. In 1947, she stood for the first time in front of movie cameras to present the role of Katie in the movie The Guilt of Janet Ames.
