J. K. Rowling is a British author who was born on the 31st of July, 1965. Rowling is best known as the originator and creator of the “Harry Potter” series. The series has been extremely successful throughout the world with more than 400 million copies sold. Moreover the series have also been adapted into film. Rowling is also known for her philanthropic work as she supports several charities including “One Parent Families” and “Comic Relief”. In 2007 Time magazine cited Rowling as a runner up for its annual “Person of the Year.”
