An Irish actor, born in Dublin, Ireland. Byrne had a religious upbringing, as he studied at the Irish Christian Brothers School and trained for 5 years to become a Catholic priest. He then played soccer with Stella Maris. He began acting at the age of 29 in some plays in Ireland before joining the Royal National Theatre in London. He appeared in some British TV series before moving to Hollywood and doing a number of works there. He's known for The Usual Suspects, Hereditary, and End of Days.
