She is an American actress who was born on October 13, 1967 in San Jose, California. She began studying at the University of Arizona and acted on theater. She's best known as Dr. Addison in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2005) and its spin-off, Private Practice (2007). Her other acting credits include Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Legion (2010), and After the Sunset (2004).
