Michelle Williams is an American actress who has been nominated for three Oscars. She was born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell, Montana. She got an early break playing Jen Lindley on the massively popular teen drama "Dawson's Creek" (1998-2003). In the 2000s, she starred in mainly independent dramas like the momentous "Brokeback Mountain" (2005), for which she earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Next she did "I'm Not There." (2005) about the fractured life of Bob Dylan, "Synecdoche, New York" (2008) and "Shutter Island" (2010) directed by Martin Scorsese. She got her second Oscar nomination for the emotionally intense and gritty "Blue Valentine" (2010). Williams won the Golden Globe for Best Actress as Marilyn Monroe in "My Week With Marilyn" (2011), for which she also got her third Oscar nomination. From 2004 to 2007, Williams was in a relationship with late actor and her "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Heath Ledger, with whom she has one daughter. They were separated when he unexpectedly died in 2008. She's now romantically linked to actor-director Jason Segel.
