Alexandre Aja is a French film director who was born in Paris, France on the 7th of August, 1978. Aja made his directorial debut at the age of eighteen when he directed the short film “Over the Rainbow”. The film received a Cannes Film Festival Golden Palm Award nomination for best short film. Aja’s 2003 film “Haute Tension” (“High Tension”) helped bring Aja to international attention. Subsequently Aja has participated in the writing and/or directing of several productions including “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006), “Mirrors” (2008) and “Piranha 3-D” (2010).
