A Canadian writer and screenwriter, born in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from the University of Toronto and in 1970 began his career in journalism, writing about literature, politics, crime and sports, and wrote regularly for newspapers and magazines such as Toronto Life, Saturday Night, and The Globe and Mail, where he was a weekly columnist in the 1980s. He is the author of "The Changing of the Guard", a work of political journalism. Some of his credits are Casino Jack (2010), Dead Ringers (1988) and Partners (1976). He died on January 4, 2019.
