John Erick Dowdle is an American filmmaker who was born on December 1973 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Whilst a student at the University of Iowa Erick made his transition from writing to film. He subsequently moved to New York where he attended a film program at New York...Read more University. Following his graduation from NYU, Erick moved to Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter he began collaborating with his brother so that the pair now work together as “The Brother’s Dowdle”. The brother-duo’s recent titles include “Quarantine”, a close remake of Spanish title “REC”, and “Devil” which is based on a story by Indian-born American filmmaker M. Knight Shyamalan.
