He is a writer, director, and producer, born in New York, USA in 1956. He majored in graphic arts, but after watching Mean Streets (1973), he decided to drop out of college to write his first movie, Wise Guys (1986). He's known for Midnight Run (1988), 29th Street (1991), Bad Boys (1995), and Middle Men (2009).
