He is an American actor, born in 1963 in Houston, Texas, United States. He experienced many hardships in his childhood after the murder of his father at the age of thirteen. He served in the US Air Force and graduated from Howard University. His career started in 1991 in Land Where My Fathers Died. He is best known for Romeo Must Die, Ghost Ship, and Grey's Anatomy, for which he won a Sage Award.
