An American writer, producer, and director, born on September 21, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Among his most notable films are Fargo (1996), A Serious Man (2009), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018). He won 4 Oscars; in 1997 the Best Original Screenplay for Fargo, and in 2008 the Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture Awards for No Country for Old Men.
