She is an American actress, musician, singer, and songwriter, born January on 17, 1980 in Los Angeles. After appearing as a model on the television show, Veronica's Closet in 1998, aged 17, Deschanel left her studies to devote herself to acting. Deschanel landed her first role in Mumford (1999). She is also known for her role in Almost Famous.
