An American writer and doctor of Afghan origins, born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He is best known for his first novel, “The Kite Runner,” in 2003, which was later adapted into a film, and his second novel, “A Thousand Splendid Suns” in 2007. Both novels have sold thirty-eight million copies internationally.
