She is an English actress, born on October 5, 1975 in Berkshire. She grew up with her British family and began studying drama at the age of 11 at an independent school. A year later, she appeared in a TV commercial. She began her career by performing in Dark Season, Sense and Sensibility, Titanic, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. She won an Academy Award and a BAFTA in 2009 for The Reader.
