American film producer, screenwriter, and actor, born in 1948 in the Bronx in the United States. He studied filmmaking at the University of California, Los Angeles. His career in Hollywood began at the age of twenty after graduating from film school. In addition to acting, he co-produced the 1980 drama, Heart Beat, which stars Nick Nolte and Sissy Spacek. Tepper also produced and scripted the 2006 film, Grilled, starring Ray Romano, Kevin James, and Sofia Vergara. He died of a heart attack on October 4, 2017, at the age of 69.
