An American director, producer, and writer, born on October 20, 1958, in Los Angeles County, California. Faris co-directed Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and Ruby Sparks (2012). She studied dance at UCLA, where she met her future husband Jonathan Dayton, with whom she has three children.
