She is born on August 17, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut. She is an American film producer, director, editor, and screenwriter. She received her education at the Rhode Island College of Design, and the Tisch Graduate School of Art. Her most prominent works include: Valley Girl, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Real Genius and Rambling Rose.
