A storyteller and journalist, born in Cairo in Munira on 28 January 1948. He grew up in a culture-loving middle-class family. His mother was a schoolteacher, and his father was the poet Abdul Rahman El Khamisy. His short stories have appeared early since 1964 on "Good Morning", "The Story", and "The Writer", as Yousef Idris introduced him to its readers on 1967. He was arrested in 1968 in student demonstrations. He wrote the films Respectable Families (1969) and Violet Flower (1977).
