Indian actress who was born in 1982 in Jamshedpur to Dr. Ashok Chopra. She spent her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh as well as in Lucknow, where she attended La Martiniere Girls' School. She later moved to the United States, where she studied at Newton North High School. After completing 10th grade, she decided to become a software engineer or forensic psychiatrist. By 2000, she returned to India to complete her education. She was crowned Femina Miss India World. She was later crowned Miss World in 2000, which allowed her to debut her artistic career with the movie Thamizhan (2002). She is known for Krrish (2006).
