He was an American actor and director, born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 26, 1931. He made his debut in the film Queen for a Day (1951). He's best known for playing Spock in the Star Trek franchise. He directed a number of films, including Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), and Three Men and a Baby (1987). He published several poetry collections in addition to two autobiographies. He died on February 27, 2015 at the age of 83.
