She is an American actress and singer, who was born on December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, New York. She spent her childhood between Japan, Florida, and Texas, where her father was a U.S. Army sergeant. She appeared on the competition show Star Search at age 10, followed by The All New Mickey Mouse Club in 1993. Christina released her debut album in 1999 which achieved great success, after which several successful albums followed. Her hit singles include "Genie in a Bottle", "Hurt" and "Beautiful". She contributed to the soundtrack of films such as Moulin Rouge! (2001), and Burlesque (2010), which she also starred in. She received numerous accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2000.
