She is an American actress and producer who was born in New York, on March 13, 1956 in New York City. She studied at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and graduated from Wesleyan University. Her notable acting credits include Desperate Housewives (2007), Tombstone (1993), and China Beach (1988) for which she won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
