An American director, born in California in 1894. He attended Lowell High School, then Hitchcock Military Academy, and Stanford University. He began his career as an actor in 1910 and directed his first film in 1927. His most notable work includes You'll Find Out, Look for the Silver Lining, If I Had My Way, and Bottoms Up. He also participated in writing many films. He died in 1979 of a heart attack.
