• Czech novelist, born in Prague. He studied law at Charles University in Prague. He also worked in the insurance field and wrote in evening newspapers. Then he moved to Berlin to...Read more devote himself to writing, and he became one of the most important writers of the twentieth century. He wrote his novels in German, the most famous of which is “The Transformation” and "The Trial." He also wrote several prominent short stories, such as "In the Penal Colony." Most of his works were published after his death by his friend, the writer Max Brod. He died on June 3, 1924, in Austria from tuberculosis.
