He is a British actor and writer, born on September 1, 1967, in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, UK. He went to Bretton Hall College and graduated in 1989 with a BA in Theatre Arts with honors. He is known for Inside No. 9 (2014-2022), Killing Eve (2020), and Happy Valley (2014). He shared an Olivier Award for "Best Entertainment" for the show The League of Gentlemen: Live at Dury's Lane (2001). He also shared a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
