American director, special effects artist, and producer born on 8 November 1976 in Waukegan, Illinois. He moved to Hollywood in the mid 1990s with his brother Greg to pursue a career in film, and they worked in special effects on several films including The Nutty Professor (1996) and Volcano (1997), after which they founded their own company. In 2000, Colin won an MTV Award for Best Art Direction for the music video "Californication" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. In 2007, Colin and Greg co-directed their first film Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
