An American producer, actor, and director, born on August 18, 1936, in Santa Monica, California. He decided to study painting at the Pratt Institute of Art, but left it to enroll in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. H acted for the first time in 1960 in the series Maverick. he is best known for acing in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President's Men, Ordinary People, and The Natural. He won the Oscar for Best Director in 1981 for his movie Ordinary People.
