An Egyptian singer and musician, born on April 23, 1935 in the village of Mit al-Amel and Aga Center in Dakahlia Governorate. He joined the village primary school, and then his family moved to Giza, where his father worked as an imam for a mosque. He did not complete his studies and started to sing in many casinos and art shops. He turned to composing in 1973 and composed scores for the singer Houria Hassan. He participated in several works, including The Land of Men (2005) and The Scholar Pasha (1991).
