An Egyptian singer and musician, born in the village of Mit Al Amel, Aga, Dakahlia Governorate. He joined the village primary school, and then his family moved to Giza, where his father worked as an imam for a mosque. He joined the Fuad I Arab Music Institute but did not complete his studies and started to sing in many casinos and music halls. He turned to composing in 1973 and composed song for the singer Houria Hassan. He participated in several works, including The Land of Men (2005) and The Belly Dancer (1991).
