An American filmmaker, born June 5, 1964 in California to a Jewish family of Ukrainian descent. She graduated from Columbia University after studying Film Directing. In 1997, she directed her short film Dinner Party, which won the National Society of Film Critics Award. One of her most famous films is The Kids Are All Right (2010).
