A French singer, songwriter, and actor, born on May 22, 1924 in Paris, France to a family of Armenian immigrants. He started singing at the age of nine. When singer Edith Piaf heard him, she took him on tours in France and the United States. Almost all of his songs are about love. He wrote more than a thousand songs and presented more than a hundred albums. He acted in films in the sixties, and he sang in more than five international languages, namely French, Russian, English, Armenian, Italian, and Spanish. He passed away on October 1, 2018. He worked in Ararat (2002) and Candy (1968).
