He is an American writer and film producer, who was born on March 4, 1947 in Vermont. He's best known for co-writing and co-producing the 2000 film Gladiator, for which he won an Oscar for Best Picture. His other notable credits include Amistad, King Arthur, and Citizen Cohn.
