An American writer, director, and producer, born in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States of America. He married Amaryllis Borrego. He is known for Nightwatch (1988), The Waterdance (1992), There's Something About Mary (1998), and The Cave (2005). He won several awards, including an Independent Spirit Award and an MTV Movie Award.
