Greek actress born on 18 October 1920 in Athens, Greece. She began her career as a stage actress in Athens in 1944. She was a political activist whose career faced several obstacles because of her activism, however, she ended up becoming Greek Minister of Culture in 1981, for eight years. Her most notable works as an actress include Never On Sunday (1960), Topkapi (1964), Phaedra (1962), and Promise at Dawn (1970). She died of lung cancer on 6 March 1994 in Manhattan, New York, US.
