American actor, director, and producer born as Paul Leonard Newman on 26 January 1925 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. His most notable works include The Hustler (1961), Cool Hand Luke (1967), The Verdict (19820, and Road to Perdition (2002). He won an Academy Award for Best Leading Actor for The Color of Money (1986). He was married twice, including to actress Joanne Woodward since 1958, and they had three daughters. He passed away on 26 September 2008 in Westport, Connecticut, at age 83.
