An American animator, director and writer, born in San Francisco, California, United States to drummer Bernie Mattinson. He became fascinated with animation in his childhood. Throughout his student years, he used to draw characters for Disney films before getting a job at the company. His credits include The Great Mouse Detective (1986) and Aladdin (1992). He died on February 27, 2023.
