An Irish writer, one of the most famous writers of his time, born in 1958 in Dublin, Ireland. He has written several novels, plays, and screenplays for artistic works, and has several works directed at children, such as the (Rover Adventures) series. His film New Boy (2007) was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film, and his play The Commitments was performed on the West End stage in London. Among his most famous novels are The Guts, The Van, and Charlie Savage.
