An American author and journalist. He was born as Thomas Kennerly Wolfe Jr. on March 2, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia. He lived in New York City, and graduated from the University of Washington. He is best known for The Right Stuff (1983), and The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), which were based on his books. He died May 14, 2018 in New York City.
