An American writer and director, who graduated from Columbia University. He published his first literary work in 1959 as co-author of The in and Out Book. He directed some films, including Nobody's Fool (1994). Among his most notable work as a screenwriter is the film Bonnie and Clyde (1967). He won three Oscars; Best Director and Best Screenplay in 1980 for Kramer vs. Kramer, and Best Screenplay in 1985 for Places in the Heart.
Robert Benton is an American director and screenwriter. He graduated from the University of Columbia.
