An American writer, director, game designer, and producer, born on 16 April 1940 in Hanover, New Hampshire, US. He received a BA from Brown University and then attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he met future collaborator Matthew Robbins. Together, they collaborated on many works including The Sugarland Express (1974) and Dragonslayer (1981). Other notable works of his include The Great Walled City of Xan (1971) and Warning Sign (1984).
