A producer, writer, director, actor, editor, and animator, born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was of Canadian, Irish, German, and English ancestry. He moved with his parents to Kansas, where he studied art. In the 1920s, he began designing his own cartoon characters and presenting them in many projects and founded the Walt Disney Productions in 1923 in Los Angeles. He won 22 Academy Awards out of a total of 59 nominations throughout his career. Among his most notable films are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, and Mary Poppins.
