American writer, producer, and director, born on 10 June 1969 in Portland, Oregon, US. He began writing short stories at the age of 10. He graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 1982. He is one of the earliest innovators in digital special effects. He began using computers to create special effects for feature films in 1990. He co-founded the production company UFO with his partner Jeffrey Beach in 1989. His most notable works include A.P.E.X. (1994), Falcon Down (2001), Dragon Fighter (2003), and Jarhead: Law of Return (2019).
