An American screenwriter, born in New Jersey, USA. He graduated from Colgate University, New York, where he studied English and comparative literature. He moved to Los Angeles in 1986. Also, he taught English at Columbia University and lectured on the humanities at the University of Southern California and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His credits include Cop Rock (1990) and Intolerable Cruelty (2003).
