An Australian author, born in Drayton, Queensland. He was educated at a local school, but he dropped out of school before he was twelve years old. He began working in several jobs, and when he was 18 years old, he was hired as a clerk in the office of the curator of intestate estates in Brisbane, Australia. Then he began writing a series of short stories, which later paved the way for a number of plays and films. He's known for On Our Selection (1920) and Rudd's New Selection (1921). He died on October 11, 1935.
