An American singer, songwriter, and actress. She attended the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, then enrolled at the University of Texas, where she studied dance. She received the Barry Manilow Scholarship for lyric writing, and also received training in writing for musicals. She's famous for a number of musicals, such as The Path to Catherine and Wanting Miss Julie.
