Moroccan director and scriptwriter, born in 1970 in Casablanca, Leila Kilani has been working as a freelance journalist since 1997. She started working on documentary cinema from 2000, making, among others, “Tanger, le rêve des brûleurs i.e. Tangier, the dream of burners” and “Nos lieux interdits i.e. Our forbidden places”. Her first feature film “Sur la planche i.e. On te plank” was well received by critics and audience during the Festival de Cannes’ “Directors fortnight” and won the “Cinema in motion 6” award at the San Sebastian Film Festival (2010) in Spain.
