An Italian actor, born as Marcello Vincenzo Domenico Mastroianni in Lazio, Italy. He was the brother of editor Ruggero Mastroianni. He was arrested during World War II by German forces, but he managed to escape. He married Italian actress Flora Carabella in 1950 and they remained married until his death. He's known for La Dolce Vita (1960) and 8½ (1963). He died of pancreatic cancer on December 19, 1996, in Paris, France.
