An American actress, born in Minnesota, USA in April 1949. She received a scholarship to the University of Minnesota, but she preferred to go to Paris to study drama, and from there to New York, where she worked as a model for a while until the producer Dino De Laurentiis offered her the main role in the movie King Kong (1976). She then played a small but influential role in the movie All This Jazz (1979), as well as her role in the movie The Postman Always Knocks Twice (1981). Jessica Lange won several awards, the most important of which is the Academy Award for Best Rising Actress for the movie Tootsie (1982), and the Academy Award for Best Actress for the movie Blue Sky (1994).
