An American writer, director, and producer, born in Hollywood in 1957. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts and produced two animated films while still studying at the institute. He began his professional career as a producer through the animated film Beauty and the Beast (1991), while his most notable work as a writer was the animated film Toy Story (1995), for which he won an Oscar, after which he joined Lucasfilm, which was later sold and became Pixar, and later became its vice president. His notable work includes the Toy Story film series.
