An Egyptian broadcaster, born in Cairo. She took over the presidency of Egyptian Television in 2001 for 6 months. She was head of the Central Administration for International Relations at the Radio and Television Union with the rank of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information from 1997 to 2001. Mervat Ragab presented and wrote many programs on Sawt al-Arab Radio, including more than 200 episodes of the show "Arabic Story". She presented news bulletins and programs in the Arabic language, including "24-Hour Events", "News and Opinions", and "On the Land of Egypt". She also covered news for many local and international conferences and had experience writing radio dramas, including A Journey with Dreams.
